The Albanese Government has signalled it will further reduce the growth of the NDIS as part of its savings measures in the Federal Budget on 12 May.

A growth reduction is a cut to the supports people rely on to live. If growth is reduced by tightening eligibility and capping or restricting supports people with disability lose access to what they need to live ordinary lives.

These cuts do not disappear. They show up somewhere else. Less support. More pressure on families. More people ending up in hospitals, aged care and crisis services that are already stretched.

We are already seeing the consequences of previous growth reductions. Deterioration, injury and in some cases, death. We cannot afford more.
